Important Property Tax Information |
The Assessor's Office of Clark County determines the value of each parcel of land whether it be improved or unimproved. The value is multiplied by 35% to acquire the assessed value of the property.
Property taxes are figured by multiplying the assessed value by the tax rate, which for the 2004-2005 tax year was an average of $3.30 per $100.00 of assessed value.
Here is an example of how to calculate the tax on your home. Assume you have a home with a taxable value of $100,000.00, located in the City of Las Vegas. The tax rate for 2004-2005 is $3.30 per $100.00 of assessed value.
To calculate the tax, multiply the assessed value by the tax rate ($3.30 per hundred dollars of assessed value): $35,000 (Assessed Value) x .033 (Tax Rate) = $1,155 taxes for the 2004-05 fiscal
